Nearly 13,000 students will live, work, learn and grow in the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District this year. EM-S ISD is fully accredited by both the Texas Education Agency and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS/CASI). In fact, EM-S ISD is one of only two school districts in the state of Texas and one of only 100 districts in the Nation to hold a district accreditation from SACS/CASI.
The Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District encompasses 73 square miles in the Northwest corner of Tarrant County. The district serves Saginaw, Blue Mound, portions of the City of Fort Worth, and unincorporated Tarrant County. Students are enrolled, enriched, and educated in eight elementary schools, three middle schools, two high schools, an alternative learning center, and an early childhood center.
EM-S ISD is among one of the fastest growing school districts in the area. According to demographic projections provided by School District Strategies, the district is growing at a rate of 18% a year and enrollment is expected to double in the next seven years.
To ensure that all students have a safe, permanent learning environment, the community voted to pass a bond issue in August 2002 that has allowed the district to build many new campuses, including Prairie Vista Middle School and Comanche Springs Elementary, opening August 2007.
With the hard work and dedication of highly competent classroom teachers and students, the district continually performs well on state exams and is successful in preparing students to excel after high school.
The district offers many ways for parents, grandparents, business men and women, and community members to be involved. Mentoring programs offer caring adults a way to positively impact the life of a child in just a few minutes a week. The Texas Scholars program brings business men and women into the classroom to encourage middle and high school students to take more challenging curriculum.
