A NOTE FROM THE COUNSELOR
It is a privilege to have the opportunity to work with your child at Lake Pointe Elementary as the school counselor. This is my 6th year as a school counselor and I truly believe that I have the greatest job in the world! I received my Master's Degree in School Counseling from Lamar University. I have worked with students from PK-12th grade as a school counselor. I love working with students and families and helping them to achieve success in and out of the classroom. The counseling program at Lake Pointe is designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and academic needs of the entire student population. In a caring way, we are helping students become aware of their own strengths, struggles, interests, values, and feelings.
Classroom guidance lessons are one way all students interact with the counselor. In addition to classroom guidance, students may benefit from participation in small groups, as well as individual counseling. I am also available as a resource to families for things such as food, clothing, shelter, and other basic needs.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful family. My husband, Gary and I have four amazing children. Tenae is 25 and teaches school at Coyote Ridge Elementary in Lewisvilled ISD. Tenae recently married her sweetheart, Danny Albrecht in June. Talon is 21 and Ashtyn is 20. Both are currently in college pursuing a degree in education. Taya is 16 and attends Boswell High School. As a family, we enjoy boating, swimming, and playing board games. Most importantly, we just love spending quality time together as a family.
