Reading incentive programs encourage our students to be active participants in reading for pleasure. These programs are not required, but merely encouraged. The goal of the programs is to help foster a love of reading, provide a unique challenge, and introduce students to variety of literature. The grade level specific reading programs are:

    Kindergarten--2x2 Reading:

    1st Grade--Caldecott Reading:
    2nd Grade--Mockingbird:

    3-5 Grade--Bluebonnet Reading Program:
    Bluebonnet Reading Log
    Master List and Resources

Specific information regarding each program can be found on the reading log. Please contact the librarian if you have any questions.

    Reading Bingo:
Students can participate in Reading Bingo. Reading Bingo encourages students to read a variety of genres. As students complete a bingo card, it should be returned to the librarian for a small reward. Books on the specific grade level reading programs can also count on the Reading Bingo.

    Little Maverick Reading:
The Little Maverick Reading is geared towards the K-5 grade student that prefers graphic novels over traditional literature. Each year, a list of outstanding, age-appropriate graphic novels make the Little Maverick Reading List. Students decide what their yearly goal will be and are rewarded for reaching their goal.

    Other Incentives:
Our campus also participates in Pizza Hut Book-it, Braum's Book Buddy and the Six Flags Read to Succeed programs. Please direct questions about these programs to the librarian or homeroom teacher.
