    Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten 

    To enroll for kindergarten, your child must be 5 years old by September 1 of the current school year.
     
    To enroll for pre-kindergarten, your child must be 4 years old by September 1 of the current school year and meet the requirements listed here.

    If your child has an existing record with the district or has been previously enrolled as a pre-k student, you will log into your Family Access account to complete NEXT YEAR Returning Registration. If you need assistance with accessing Family Access, please contact your child's last school of enrollment. 
     
    Please note, NEW to District Student Enrollment should not be used unless your child has never attended EMS ISD.

    Next Steps

    Once you have finished the online registration process, please take the items listed below to your child's campus to complete the registration process.Your child will NOT be fully registered for school until you provide this documentation.

    The following items are needed in order to complete the registration process for your child:
    • Student's birth certificate (Order a certified birth certificate at Texas.gov)
    • Student's Social Security card
    • Current immunization records (see below)
    • Proof of residency with a matching valid Texas driver's license or identification card (see below)

    Residency Verification Required for New Students

    As a public school system, EMS ISD schools welcome all students who live within the boundaries of the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District and meet state age and health requirements. New students will need to verify their residency prior to the start of school.

    This can be done easily by submitting a copy of one of the following acceptable documents listed below PLUS a copy of a driver's license with matching address information.

    Students may not be enrolled in the district if they do not provide proof of residence in the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD. Failure to provide adequate information will result in immediate removal of students and may subject parents/guardians to payments of costs of educational services.


    Proof of Residency Requirements

    Preferred Method:
    • Parent or guardian’s driver's license or government-issued identification
    • Proof of residency – current (last 30 days) original utility bill in parent or guardian’s name (gas, water, or electric)
    • Address on driver’s license and utility bill must match

    If you do not have a current utility bill, other acceptable documents include:

    • Mortgage/rent receipts for current or previous month
    • Lease agreement dated within the last 30 days*
    • Deed of sale dated within the last 30 days*

    *If your lease agreement or deed of sale is not dated within the last 30 days, please bring a current utility bill with a matching address with your driver’s license. For special circumstances, please contact the registrar at your child’s school or the Student Services office.

    Transfer Policy

    Students residing within the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD boundaries may request an in-district transfer to another school by contacting the Student Services department at Central Administration. In-district transfer requests received before the stated deadline are granted prior to the student's first day of school if space permits. The district does not accept out-of-district transfers unless the parent of the child is a full-time district employee.
