Students can check out videos?
Of Course! There are tons of movies based on literature, and viewing the movie may lead students to read the book. Plus, what a great way to compare and contrast the book to the movie
We will be adding more movies to the collection over time. While most will be based on literature or something studied in the classroom, a few will be classics that every kid should see (in my opinion). (This will start the second six weeks and students will be allowed to check out based on the library record.)
Why do students need permission to checkout movies?
We offer G, PG, PG-13, and NR rated movies. Some of our students are not 13 years old. Sometimes, there are movies parents do not want their child to see, even though the child is 13 years old. Sometimes, the student is not yet 13, but the parent does not mind their child watching certain PG-13 movies. We also offer many movies that are NR, or not rated. These movies were produced before the MPAA began assigning movie ratings. Requiring a permission form gives parents the ability to choose whether their child checks out movies and what ratings are acceptable.
Once a student has turned in the permission slip, he/she will be allowed to checkout movies as long as he/she is a student at WMS.Please complete this video permission form and return to the library.
Students can check out magazines?
Yes. However, magazines are not very durable and I expect the students to take care of them. Any damaged or lost magazine will be $3.00 to replace.(This will start the second six weeks and students will be allowed to check out based on the library record.)
