    GENERAL INFORMATION

     

    The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.     Athlete Eligibility Eligibility: Any student in EMS ISD with an intellectual disability, with or without any other physical or mental disorders. • Or developmental disability which limits functional performance in general learning and adaptive skills • Ages for athletes in training 5-7 years old • Ages for competition 8-21 years old Visit www.sotx.org for more information.
     
     
    Medical Form/Athlete Enrollment - this form is required to participate in Special Olympics, and must be updated every 3 years.
