Student Teacher GuidelinesEagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD welcomes student teachers during both the fall and spring semesters.To request placement for student teaching, please follow the guidelines below.
Placement Requirements:Currently EMS ISD is partnering with the following institutions for student teacher placements:Texas Christian UniversityTexas Woman’s UniversityTexas Wesleyan UniversityUniversity of North TexasThe University of Texas at ArlingtonTexas A&M University
Placement Timelines:Fall - Student teacher requests from the recommending entity must be completed by June 1.Spring - Student teacher requests from the recommending entity must be completed by November 1.**Adherence to the timelines will assist us in accommodating request in an efficient and timely manner.
1. A written request from the University or Certification Program
2. A Criminal Background Check*The District Criminal Background Check must be completed in order for the request to be processed.
Placements are issued on a first come, first served basis. Campuses and subject areas are allotted a certain amount of Student Teachers to ensure the best possible learning environment for both the Student Teachers and EMS ISD students. Please be aware that depending on the volume of placements, it is possible that not all requests can be accommodated.All late entries/ applicants will not automatically secure a placement.
