Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Meagan Streiffert and I am entering my sixth year working and my fifth year teaching in the EM-S ISD district. I worked in the Human Resources department for one year. Then, my first three years of teaching were at Remington Point Elementary teaching 4th grade for two years and 3rd grade for one year. This is my second year at Dozier. This year, I am teaching 4th grade Reading. Reading has ALWAYS been my favorite subject! I love books! (I'm at Half-Price Books and the library often.)
I am a graduate of Dallas Baptist University where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Master of Education in Reading and English as a Second Language (ESL).
I was born in Fort Worth, but I moved all around the world as a little girl. My dad was in the Air Force for 20 years and we were stationed in places like San Antonio, Virginia, the Azores (part of Portugal), Hawaii and Japan! I had lots of fun! My hobbies include watching sports (especially football and baseball) and singing.
My family is extremely important to me. My dad works for the IT Department for the city of Fort Worth. My mom is the Library Aide at Boswell High School (I get my love of books from her!). I have a younger sister who is married and she and her husband live in Oklahoma where she is doing her medical residency in family medicine and he is working as a graduation specialist at a local university. We are a very close family, so I'm sure you will hear me talking about road trips to Oklahoma often!
I am so excited to be teaching 4th grade this year. We have an exciting year ahead of us and I am looking forward to making memories with a great group of students!
