DECA is an organization that prepares students interested in a future in business for real world situations. Students are able to compete at the district, state and international levels in various categories. Some of the categories include Fashion Marketing, Principles of Marketing, Fashion Marketing, Sports & Entertainment, Hospitality and Tourism, Travel and Tourism, Personal Finance, and so much more.
March 1, 2018: Congratulations to Makayla Bouaphanh, Jacob SPiers and Caleb Straker for being accepted by TX State DECA to represent Texas at ICDC at the Emerging Leaders Academy. They will be joining Mrs. Lockwood and Billie Bray in Atlanta, GA in April!
Feb. 22, 2018: Congratulations to Lauren Aven, Billie Bray, Melieke Brown, Ashton Hurst, Savannah Keller, Justin Muller, Jacob Spiers, and Caleb Straker for their phenominal performance at DECA State CDC. For the first time ever, Boswell DECA will be advancing to Internationals! Congratulations to Billie Bray for moving on in Automotive Services Marketing Series. Good luck at internationals in April!
Jan. 16, 2018: Congratulations to the 20+ students who competed at the district level. Eight students are advancing on to state CDC in March.
This year, Boswell High School had three students compete at District CDC and make it to the state level.

During the school year, DECA members have the opportunity to participate in charitable events, scholarship events, competitive events, meetings with local sports teams and businesses, and so much more. A student going to and performing at state level can letter in DECA.
*In the 2017-2018 school year, DECA will be incorporated into the Principles of Business, Marketing and Finance class. For those students interested in DECA, but not enrolled in this course, there will still be the opportunity to be involved as an extracurricular club.
