• As part of our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) focus, we are partnering with Recovery Resource Council, Just Say Yes, and The Women’s Center of Tarrant County to provide awareness and prevention education to students.

     

    Recovery Resource presentations will occur on October 13th or October 23rd during your child’s Foundations class.  Presentations will include information about the dangers of tobacco and other drugs, and emphasize healthy decision-making.  For more information on the program, visit https://recoverycouncil.org/prevention-education-programs/public-awareness-campaigns/.  If you do NOT want your child at attend this presentation, please complete the Recovery Resource opt out form and return it to the front office before 3:30 pm on October 11th.

     

    Just Say Yes speaker, Gabe Salazar, will speak to all students on October 25th.  Gabe’s program provides students with strategies to overcome obstacles in the classroom and beyond. He challenges students to be purposeful with their choices, and tells them it is never too late to turn things around for themselves.     The Women’s Center of Tarrant County presentations will occur on October 30th during 8th grade Foundations classes.  The Play it Safe!® curriculum focuses on the emotional and legal consequences of social media posts, including consequences of cyberbullying and sexting.  Students are encouraged to think before posting, and healthy communication is discussed.   For more information on the program, visit https://playitsafe.org/curriculum_gradelevels.php.  If you do NOT want your child to attend this presentation, please complete the Women's Center opt out form and return it to the front office before 3:30 pm on October 25th.
