Hi! Welcome to 8th Grade Science.
This is my 19th year teaching science at Highland Middle School.
I graduated from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Science. I received my teaching certification here in Texas.
I have a daughter (Boswell grad) and son-in-law who both graduated from Southern Arkansas University. They are teachers/coaches/Principals in Arkansas. My son is a Saginaw HS graduate and is currently teaching and coaching in the Little Elm ISD. If you see me at any of the sporting events at SHS or HMS, feel free to come over and introduce yourself.
Outside of school, I enjoy photography, travelling and reading. I've been to Iceland, backpacked through Europe for two months, took a train trip across Canada, and have visited most U.S. states, including Alaska and Hawaii. I have travelled with high school students to Scotland, Ireland, Wales and England. While there we abseiled down a castle wall, white water rafted the River Tay, and spent two weeks without luggage - since the airline lost it all! Some friends and I enjoyed a 5000 miles road trip from Texas to Canada and back. I have also travelled to Japan, China, Europe (twice), Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. This past summer I took three road trips totaling over 10,000 miles.
