About Me...

I love teaching life science and try as much as possible to relate it to the students lives.  In 2002, I decided to go back to school to get my teaching degree.  I spent the 20 years prior to that working and raising my three children.  After much sacrifice and support from my family, I graduated magna cum laude in 2005 from Texas Women's University in Denton.  This is my thirteenth year of teaching in the EMS-ISD and my 9th year to teach 7th grade science at Highland.   I feel so lucky to be here (the staff and students are wonderful) and I enjoy teaching this age group.
All three of my children attended Highland Middle School.  My oldest two graduated from BHS and my youngest from SHS.  I have two grandchildren.   I have one dog, Huck.   When I'm not at school, I enjoy reading, playing games, and spending time with my family and friends.  I also enjoy supporting the students and you may see me at a ball game, band performance, and other student activities.
