• Meet Ms. Thomas

Ms. Thomas has served Boswell High School as a Chemistry teacher since 2008. She has served as the Science Department Head for five years, but will be starting a new role as an Instructional Coach for teachers in 2017. Ms. Thomas is a co-sponsor for Gold Standard Honor Society, Boswell's ACS ChemClub, and the State Championship winning EMS Rugby team. This school year will be her 21st year in education.

Ms. Thomas is a native of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and graduated from James Martin High School in Arlington. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of North Texas in 1990. After several years in industry, she returned to UNT to earn her teaching certification in 1998. She also earned her Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction in 2007 and holds a certification in English as a Second Language. Ms. Thomas was selected as the Boswell High School and the EMS ISD Secondary Teacher of  the Year in 2015.

Ms. Thomas' family consists of a wonderful gentleman that pilots airplanes and mows the lawn (not at the same time) and three kitty-children: #3, Knobby, and Jaws. She is active in the bicycling community and is currently pursuing the goal of completing a 100 mile ride every month for a calendar year. Ms. Thomas enjoys crafting in two very different ways: by crochet, knitting and quilting, and by home brewing craft beers.
