Emory Miramontes-Eldredge, second grader from Willow Creek Elementary, represented EMS ISD in the Area Reading Competition held at TCU on Saturday, November 21 and placed fourth. Way to go, Emory!
The Boswell Pioneers fell to Burleson Centennial 28-10 in the Class 5A Division I area playoffs on Friday, November 20, at Dragon Stadium in Southlake. The Pioneers celebrate a winning season as the 2015 Bi-District Champions. Congratulations to our student athletes, Coach Ab and the coaching staff, and the fans on a great season!
Students at CTHS have been communicating with students from Paris throughout the school year as a part of the ePals Program. In light of the recent, tragic events in Paris, these students were able to reach out to their pen pals and express their collective sorrow and sympathy.
Head boy’s gymnasts coach Eric Briley was invited to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs on November 13-15 to help coach junior Olympics in the Junior Olympic Program.
On November 17th, Boswell High School hosted Region XI Education Service Center's Campus Carousel networking meeting where campus administrators from around the area came to learn about the out-of-the-box strategies EMS educators are employing to increase rigor and relevance in their classrooms.
Life Skills teacher, Allissa Clark, of Chisholm Trail High School has been named the 2015 recipient of the prestigious Bayard H. Friedman Hero Award. She was presented with the award at the Shriner Circus on Monday, November 16.
18 students from Saginaw High School competed at the Texas Forensic Association Byron Nelson Classic at Byron Nelson High School on November 7th. Based upon accumulation of points from competition two students have qualified for the state meet in March:
Debate students from Saginaw High School competed at the UIL Regional Congressional Debate contest on November 4th. Two SHS seniors walked away with top honors.
Last September, Greenfield Elementary students and staff donated over $3,000 to Patriot Paws. To say "thank you", a puppy was named Gator in the school's honor. This school year, Greenfield students and staff threw a “Puppy Shower” for Gator and the many other puppies trained by this organization.
Senior debate student Dylan Lofton of Chisholm Trail High School has come a long way since his first debate where he struggled to hold a minute-long speech. Now, the award winning debater is headed to Austin to compete in the State Congressional Debate.
The Southwestern American Choral Directors Association announced eight Saginaw High School students as honor choir members for the 2016 Southwestern American Choral Directors Association Conference.
EMS ISD PACE classes at each elementary school participated in a "Socktober" Sock Drive during the month of October to benefit various local charities.
