Monday's kick-off event at Hafley Development Center featured music performances by the Prairie Vista MS band, cheer and dance routines by Chisolm Trail Cheer, and song and drumming performances by the 4-year-olds from EMS ISD Child Care.
Congratulations to 8th graders Jacob Frizzell and Shelby Hansen for earning $2,500 college scholarships from the Bobby Bragan Youth Foundation for 2017. Of the 248 applications received from the DFW area, only 34 students were selected as recipients.

HCTC students Mandy Hiett (SHS) and Bre McNichols (BHS) are the first EMS ISD students to be selected to compete in NASA's International Space Settlement Design Competition at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Click here to read more about their national championship project.
Students from the HCTC recently competed in the SkillsUSA State Contest in Corpus Christi and achieved outstanding results. Seventy EMS ISD students, representing all four high schools, competed with 22 earning Top 3 placements.
The Saginaw mens' Gymnastics team competed at the Regional Gymnastics meet at Richland High School on April 4-5. Senior Maison Leck set a school record with three perfect 10's during the two-day competition and led the team to a victory.
The Lady Rough Riders of Saginaw High School claimed their district title for the second consecutive year during the District 6-5A Track and Field meet hosted by Chisholm Trail HS on April 5-6. Click the headline to see individual awards.
