Students from the HCTC competed in the SkillsUSA State
Contest in Corpus Christi April 6th to 10th and achieved
outstanding results. The 70 EMSISD students, representing all four high
schools, events aligned to their program of study, with 22 achieving top three
placement. Eight HCTC students will represent the state of Texas at the
SkillsUSA National Contest June 12th to 16th in
Louisville, Kentucky.
SkillsUSA is a national partnership of students, teachers
and industry representatives working together to ensure America has a skilled
workforce. SkillsUSA is an individual membership organization serving middle
school, high school and college/postsecondary students who are preparing for
careers in technical, skilled and service occupations, including health
occupations.
