  • Joshua Geer’s Tennis Biography

     

    Joshua Geer’s coaching career began in Midwest City, Oklahoma where he was the head coach of his alma mater at Carl Albert High School.  He then moved to Mansfield, TX where he was a teacher and coach for 8 years in the Mansfield Independent School District.  His next destination was working at the University of Oklahoma tennis facility and organizing camps and lessons along with stringing for the college team.  Finally, he was head coach for two years at Burleson Centennial High School before coming to Boswell where he is in his second season.  Altogether, Coach Geer has over 15 years of experience working at both the high school and collegiate level.

    Coach Geer has worked various camps for Division I universities.  He currently works for both Texas Christian University and Texas A&M as an instructor during the summer.  He is an active USTA member and plays on a men’s USTA team located right here in Saginaw.  Mr. Geer has also been a speaker at both  the Texas Tennis Coaches Association and  the Texas Women’s Association of Coaches conferences that have been  held right here in our great state.  

    Joshua Geer has a Bachelor’s Degree in English Education from the University of Central Oklahoma.  He also has a certificate for English as a Second Language.  He has been married to his beautiful wife named Laurie for 13 years.  His favorite quote is from a poem by Rudyard Kipling, “If you can meet with triumph and disaster, and treat those two impostors just the same.  If you can do that, you will have class.”
