Ms. Jennifer Manis

This year is an extra special year for me. Four years ago, I started my tenure at Bos teaching freshmen and now I get to see many of the same students as seniors. I'm excited to see their growth as writers and as individuals!

This is my fourth year at Boswell, and it's my third year to take on the yearbook adviser role and to teach journalism.  My plate may seem full, but my heart is even full-er! Before I go any further, I should clarify...

No. "Full-er" is not a word. But guess what?  Voice is important in writing! In fact, voice allows us to invent words that don't exist! See?  Writing can be fun! You learned something already, didn't you? :)

I could truly not ask for a better opportunity than to teach the subjects I love right here at Boswell High School. Last year was awesome and this year is bound to top it!

In case the "secret" hasn't made it's way to you from last year's seniors, I truly do enjoy my job and love building great relationships with students.
As for a bit about me...
I am a graduate of the Mayborn School of Journalism from University of North Texas.  Prior to becoming a teacher nine years ago, I worked in the corporate world where I utilized my public relations/journalism skills in the most...ineffective way possible.  I knew there was something better I could do with my skills and I'm 100 percent sure I found it!
I love reading and writing (go figure!) and I also love movies.  I coin myself the "pop culture diva". Seriously.  Quiz me! I often write on a movie review blog, which affords me the opportunity to tap into those journalistic skills!
I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you.  Bring on 2017-18!  Go Bos!
