James McCarry is currently serving in his 14th year as the Head Boys Soccer Coach. In addition to Boys Soccer he served in the capacity of the Cross Country Assistant for 8 years as well as the Head Girls Soccer Coach at Boswell High School from 2009-2014.  He holds a combined career record of 338-131-60.  While at Boswell he has led the boys to the State Playoffs in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2017.  In 2007 the boys finished as Regional Quarter-finalists. Coach McCarry was awarded District 5-AAAA Coach of the Year in 2007 and again in District 6-AAAAA in 2017.  During his tenure as the Girls coach he led the girls program to their first ever playoff victory in 2014 reaching the Area round, their first District 12-AAAA Championship in 2010, again in 2014, and the State Playoffs by placing second in District 12-AAAA in 2011, 2012, and 2013 while being selected as the 12-AAAA Coach of the Year in 2010, 2013 and 2014.  Countless players have been elected to the All Region and All State Teams as well moving on to play at the Collegiate level.

    As the Cross Country assistant he helped lead the girls program to five State appearances in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and again in 2013.  The girls finished as the State Silver Medalist in 2007 and 2008 while finishing as the Bronze Medalist in 2009.  In 2012 he earned the Boswell Advanced Placement Teacher of the Year Award.

    Prior to arriving at Boswell High School he served as the Head Boys Soccer Coach at Alvin High School for six years where he led the team to their first ever District 24-AAAAA Championship in 2003 and their first playoff victory in 2005 reaching the Area round. At Alvin he was named District 24-AAAAA Coach of the year in 2002, 2003, and 2005 and awarded an Alvin I.S.D. Top 5% Educator Award.  He coached select soccer and worked at the O.D.P. level from 1999 - 2008 while serving as the Coaching Director for Alvin Youth Soccer, Alvin Paradox, and Fort Worth Arsenal F.C.

    During college he played at Southern Nazarene University and graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1997.  He attained his Masters in Educational Administrative Leadership from Lamar University in 2013.   

    Coach McCarry holds a Bachelor of Arts in History as well as his Masters in Educational Leadership.  In 2012 he was named Boswell High School’s Advanced Placement Teacher of the Year and has taught A.P. U.S. History since 2007.  Coach is also an active member of the Phi Alpha Theta Historical Honors Society.  Coach McCarry currently holds a U.S.S.F. "C" License, N.S.C.A.A. Advanced Regional Diploma, and a N.S.C.A.A. Goalkeeper II Certificate.  He is an active member in the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches and the Texas High School Coaches Association.
