Mr. McClean

The Head Band Director at Creekview Middle School is Scott McClean.

Mr. McClean teaches the Honors Band, as well as all of the Beginning Brass classes.  He also assists with the Symphonic Band and the Beginning Percussion class.  He received his Bachelor's of Music Education degree from Texas Christian University in 1997, and his Master's of Music Education degree from the University of North Texas in 2004.  This will be year 22 of teaching band overall.  He taught for two years in Bryan, Texas, four years in Farmers Branch, and two years in Richardson.  This will be his 14th year here at Creekview.

His favorite thing to teach is UIL music because it's very challenging and fun to teach the kids how to play it.  To him, the best part about teaching is helping students become successful.  He came to Creekview for the opportunity to work in a growing district with a fabulous band program district-wide.

His expectations for his students are that they work hard in class and that they strive to succeed in everything that they do.  The band program has many projects scheduled including spring and winter concerts, UIL Concert & Sightreading contest, and All Region and All District tryouts.  Band is great because it is an activity where everyone gets to participate all the time.  It's a lot of work but it's also lots of fun.

He lives in Ft. Worth with his wife, Charlotte, their daughters, Kylie and Katie, and their cat, Ludi.  He enjoys cheering on the Texas Rangers baseball club, reading, and playing with his daughters.
