    The mission of Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District is to foster a culture of excellence that instills a passion for a lifetime of continuous achievement in every student.

     

    School Supplies:

    • (1) 1” 3-ring binder for Reading
    • (1) 1” 3-ring binder for Writing
    • 3-ring Binder Dividers
    • Pencils
    • Notebook paper
    • Library book (to be checkout out and brought to class daily by student)

     

    Student Expectations:

     

    Be considerate, courteous and respectful: Inappropriate behavior includes rudeness, talking back, swearing, name-calling, putdowns, etc.

    Listen to and follow the directions: This includes teachers, administrators, custodians, secretaries, instructional assistants, substitutes, and other adults in authority.

    Follow classroom and school rules: No gum chewing, eating in class, cell phones put away and turned off (unless you have the teacher’s permission).

    Be on time and prepared for class: Bring a book, paper, pencils, necessary classroom materials, and any completed homework.

     

    Reading Course Goals:

     

    When reading texts of increasing complexity, students can:

    • Analyze how the author develops informational texts to support the main idea or argument
    • Make complex inferences within and between literary and informational texts, supporting those

               inferences with relevant textual evidence
