Through projects and activities, student councils work to:
- PROMOTE CITIZENSHIP
- PROMOTE SCHOLARSHIP
- PROMOTE LEADERSHIP
- PROMOTE HUMAN RELATIONS
- PROMOTE CULTURAL VALUES
A student council is a group of student leaders who work with an adult advisor to collaborate with others to impact their school community, which impacts their city or town, which impacts our state, which impacts our country, which changes the world. (taken from TASC website)Here are some great reasons to join Stu Co:
As a representative of the student body, you will participate in a variety of student government conferences, meetings, summits, and field trips. All of these outings will give you ample opportunity to connect with faculty, administrators and community leaders, as well as other students. These types of networks are crucial in developing a support system when it comes time to look for a job.
- Positive Influence on Your School
This really speaks to the original goal of the student council in the first place. As a student council member, you get to stand up for the rights of yourself and your fellow students. You get to help preserve your school’s traditions. And – maybe most importantly – help your school evolve with changing times.
- Fun and Friends
You get to participate in projects and make friends with other students who are looking to make a positive change. Student Council is a great way to become involved in the student body and build relationships with peers.
