Welcome to my PAP English II site!  My name is Mrs. Gilbreath, and I have taught and coached for a very long time! I have a Master's Degree in Education/Administration and feel that working with teenagers is a calling, and I love that I am in this profession!. I am certified in English, secondary reading, physical education, and mid-management.  I am a very proud TCU graduate and a member of their Ex-Lettermen's Club, lettering in track and field. Go Frogs!! I am also thrilled to be teaching at my high school alma mater. Go Bos!  After being very active in various clubs, organizations, basketball, and track, I graduated from Boswell High School very prepared for both undergrad and graduate studies and college life.  My teachers and coaches at Bos were very positive influences on my decision to become an educator myself.
My family is my pride and joy.   I am married another high school teacher/coach and we have a blast together.  I am very fortunate to have such an amazing friend in a spouse!  We love spending time with our children in our blended family, which can be difficult since they are spread out all over Texas and the USA getting their degrees and starting careers! My oldest son Jared also graduated from TCU, received a law degree at The University of Texas School, and is currently excelling in his career as a Navy JAG lawyer.   My youngest son finished his college football career as a wide receiver at Abilene Christian University recently, and is now coaching and teaching history. When I'm not at a sporting event, I enjoy running, traveling, attending church, and hanging out with my awesome husband, family, and  friends.   The comedy relief at our home is our dog who is 1/2 Weimaraner, 1/2 Lab. His name is perfect for our competitive family:  Champ Ian Gilbreath. (get it???)   He is four years old, thinks he's human, and keeps us on our toes!
I look forward to challenging all of my students to become better writers and readers, and go confidently into STAAR, PSAT, AP Exams, SAT, and ACT as they continue through high school.  With the joint efforts of parents and fellow Boswell educators, these students can  do amazing things!
