Todd Marchand is Assistant Director of Bands at Chisholm Trail High School, working alongside Director of Bands Derrick Doyle and Assistant Director Hannah Stephens.
Mr. Marchand has worked with directors and students in the EMS-ISD since 2013, most recently as Instrumental Specialist for Chisholm Trail High School and Ed Willkie Middle School, where he assisted with band rehearsals, performances, and competitions as well as teaching beginning low brass classes. Previously, he taught private lessons, conducted master classes, and coached student chamber ensembles for middle and high schools in the district.
Mr. Marchand earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education from Texas Christian University, where he performed as a trombonist in the university bands, jazz ensemble, and orchestra, arranged for the marching band and jazz ensemble, and served as a graduate teaching assistant. He has written and arranged warm-ups, daily drills, technical studies, and original music and arrangements for marching and concert bands and has published more than 100 pieces for instrumental soloists, brass ensembles, woodwind ensembles, and choirs.
A member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), Mr. Marchand holds active teacher certifications in Secondary Music and Secondary English/Language Arts. He has taught Band grades 6-12, English, Journalism, Photojournalism, Media Literacy, and SAT Preparation courses, and he has coached students to district, region, area, and state honors in both academic and music competitions.
Mr. Marchand’s wife, Becky, is an elementary music teacher in the Azle ISD. Their family includes sons Brendan and Colin, daughter-in-law Payton, and grand-daughter Parker.
