Alternative Certification

Alternative Certification Programs (ACP) are considered a non-traditional pathway to becoming a Texas certified teacher for those who already have their bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. A candidate will need to apply and be selected by the select to the ACP.  

To be eligible for a teaching position through an ACP, you must first obtain your Statement of Eligibility (SOE). To receive your SOE, you must complete your program’s required training modules and pass your content exam. Please note that EMS ISD does not hire individuals on emergency permits.
