Educational Aide Certificate
You must first be employed by a school district before you are eligible to apply for an Educational Aide Certificate. If you have not been advised to apply by your employing district, please do not submit an application.
Once approved to move forward:
1. Create a TEAL account (if you do not already have one).
2. Apply and pay for the Educational Aide Certificate.
3. Be recommended by your hiring district.
The Educational Aide Certificate is valid for two years and is nonrenewable. You must reapply for a new certificate every two years. Your HR Specialist will assist you with this process.
Note: If you are a Texas-certified teacher, you are not required to hold an Educational Aide Certificate to serve as an aide.
