Substitute Information

 

Thank you for your interest in becoming a substitute teacher for Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD.

Below is the substitute applicant process:

Application Review

All applications are reviewed by Human Resources. 

Fingerprinting/Background Check

EMS ISD conducts a background check on all substitute applicants. Applicants will be required to have updated fingerprints on file an will receive instructions via email on how to schedule a fingerprint appointment. 

In-Person Substitute Training

 All new substitutes to the district must attend one training session. Please click here to choose a training day. EMS ISD Retired Teachers are exempt from this training, but welcome to attend. 

Substitute Compliance Bundle

Substitute candidates will receive a link to the EMS ISD Compliance Bundle. This must be completed prior to the first day of substituting. 

Processing 

Once the in-person training and compliance bundle is complete, a candidate is notified by email to submit employment documents via our secure online portal, Laserfiche. College transcripts will be required to be eligible for the “60 Hours of College Credit” pay tier. High school diploma/GED will also be required for the “High School Diploma” pay tier.

Assignment 
Candidate is notified via email of substitute approval status and may begin accepting assignments in Frontline.

 

Fingerprint Reimbursement

 A substitute may be reimbursed for the cost of their fingerprinting after working 10 full days. The reimbursement form will need to be submitted with an uploaded, original receipt. Copies of bank statements cannot be received as proof of payment.
