Programs for Children with Disabilities

Every child with a disability in Texas, from age three through twenty-one, has the right to a free appropriate public education. Students with visual or hearing disabilities have the right to a free, appropriate public education from birth. Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD provides free appropriate programs for students with disabilities. Cada niño con una inhabilidad en Tejas, de la edad de tres a veintiuno en la fecha de Septiembre 1 del ano escolar, tiene el derecho a una educación publica apropiada y libre. Special Education Services for Private / Home School Students

Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District Department of Special Programs is committed to offering an appropriate education to every child who resides within its jurisdiction. All children attending home schools or private schools located in Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD may be referred to Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD Department of Special Programs 1600 Mustang Rock Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76179, (817) 232-0880, ext. 2622 to determine eligibility for special education services at no cost to the parent.

Initial Evaluation Request - Child Find

Initial Evaluation Request – Child Find Form

Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD is committed to identifying and serving students who may have a disability and need special education services.

Parents or guardians may request an initial evaluation for special education services at any time.

How to Submit a Request

To ensure timely processing, requests for evaluation should be submitted using the online Initial Evaluation Request – Child Find Form 

  • If a request is made verbally or through email, families will be asked to complete the online form to formally document the request.
  • Submitting the form ensures that the district has all required information to begin the process.

What Happens Next

  • Once the completed form is received, the school district will respond within 15 school days.
  • The date the request is received is considered Day 0, and the response timeline begins on the following school day.
  • Providing a Prior Written Notice explaining the district’s decision, and if appropriate, requesting your written consent for evaluation.

If you choose to provide written consent for an evaluation:

  • The district will complete the evaluation within 45 school days of receiving your consent.
  • Once the evaluation is completed, an ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) Committee meeting will be scheduled within 30 calendar days to review the results and determine eligibility for services.
