• Elementary through High School Credit Recovery and High School Acceleration

    Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD will offer a variety of summer programs to meet the needs of students in grades K – 12.  Please see the information below for the specific offerings. Contact your campus administration if you have questions about your child’s summer school assignment or would like to request your student participate in one of the summer school programs. 

  • Special Education Option

    Extended School Year Service (ESY)*

    Extended School Year (ESY) services are provided beyond the regular school year as part of a student’s Individualized Education Program.  ESY services are determined on an individual basis by the student’s Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee.

    Elementary Options    

     Bilingual/ESL Program for Incoming Students in Kindergarten and First Grade*

    This required summer school program is provided for bilingual/ESL students who will be eligible for admission to kindergarten and first grade at the beginning of the 2021-2022 school year.  These students will receive targeted instruction in language development, academic skills, and social skills.  Additional emphasis will be to accelerate learning skills in reading, writing, and math.

    Elementary Intervention Academy for Students in Grades 1 & 5*

    This program will serve current first and fifth grade students in need of academic support in reading and math.

    Days:  Monday-Thursday

    Dates:  June 7-July 1

    Hours:  7:45 am-12:00 pm

    Transportation, breakfast, and lunch will be provided.

    Elementary Virtual Intervention Academy for Grades K, 2, 3, & 4*

    This virtual program will serve students currently in kindergarten, second, third, and fourth grades in need of academic support in reading and math.

     Elementary ESL Enrichment Academy for Grades 1 through 5*

    This program will serve current ESL students in first through fifth grade students in need of language acquisition support in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

    Days:  Monday-Thursday

    Middle School Options

    Middle School Credit Recovery Program for Grades 6-8

    This program will be offered to all current 6th, 7th, & 8th grade students who have failed two or more core subjects (English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and/or Science) or whose overall average is less than 70 and are designated as being retained.

    Grades:  Current 6-8

    Campus:  Marine Creek Middle School

    Days:  Monday-Thursday

    Dates:  June 7-July 1

    Hours:  7:45 am-12:00 pm

    Cost:  $150 for 1 course/$300 for 2 courses/$400 for 3 courses

    Transportation will be provided based on available capacity.  Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

    High School Credit Recovery Program in Grades 9-12

    This program provides classes that will offer all students currently enrolled in high school courses the opportunity to repeat courses in which credit was not acquired for Part A and/or Part B of a course.  Courses will included:

    This program provides specific courses offered for course acceleration.  These courses include Art I, Government, Economics, and Physical Education.

     High School EOC Academy

    This program is designed to assist students who need further academic support for the STAAR End-of-Course (EOC) exams.  Students will have the opportunity to participate in up to five different courses prior to EOC re-tests the week of June 21st.  In most cases, it is recommended that students focus on only two courses in order to best provide the opportunity for focused remediation.  ESL services will be provided.

    EMS ISD Prep Academy

    EMS ISD is pleased to announce that we are continuing our free national test preparation program to help our students prepare for the ACT as well as compete for college scholarships. This program is free for students who have not previously enrolled in an EMS ISD Prep Academy. If your student has previously enrolled, the cost is $99. Instruction for the ACT preparation course will be taught in-person by certified EMS ISD teachers who are trained in the Princeton Review curriculum.

    Registration for the ACT test preparation program April 26 2021, at 5:00 p.m. and will close May 14, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. This program is offered free of charge but seating is limited. Classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis with juniors and seniors having priority. Students and parents will be notified of confirmation or wait-list status on May 21. After confirmation of admittance into the prep program on May 21, students that need to pay will be instructed on this process. 

    Grades: Current 9-12 with priority given to juniors and seniors

    Campus: Chisholm Trail High School

    Dates: June 28-July 1 and July 12-15

    Hours: 8:30-11:45 am

    Cost: There is no cost for this program for those who have never enrolled. It costs $99 for students who have previously enrolled.
