To enroll for kindergarten, your child must be 5 years old by September 1 of the current school year. To enroll for Pre-K, your child must be 4 years old by September 1 of the current year, and meet the enrollment criteria.

Required Documentation

Once you have finished the online registration process, by clicking the appropriate link below, you will be contacted by the registrar to complete the registration process for your incoming Pre-Kindergartner or Kindergartner.

Student's birth certificate (order a certified birth certificate here)
Student's Social Security card
Current immunization records (click here for requirements)
Proof of residency with a matching valid Texas driver's license or identification card
Proof that your student meets at least one of the Pre-K enrollment requirements listed below (Pre-K students only).

Pre-K Program Requirements

Pre-Kindergarten Program Requirements

The Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD offers a pre-kindergarten program for qualifying four-year-olds. A child may enroll in the program if the student lives in the district, is four years old as of September 1 of the current school year, and can meet one of the following requirements:

Family income must fall within federal guidelines for free and reduced lunch program. Parent(s) must show proof of income with the previous year's income tax return and/or 3 current pay stubs.
Be homeless, as defined by 42 United States Code (U.S.C.) Section 1143a, regardless of the residence of the child, of either parent of the child, or of the child's guardian or other person having lawful control of the child
Limited English Proficiency (as defined by 42 U.S.C.S. Section, 11302).
Child of an active duty member of the armed forces, mobilized Reservist or member of the Texas National Guard, including the child of a member who was hurt or killed on active duty. Parent/Guardian must present a Department of Defense identification (such as a DoD photo ID), or a statement of service, or an official letter from a commander stating that he/she is on active duty or mobilized.
Child is currently or has ever been in the conservatorship of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) (i.e., in foster care).
Child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award as: a peace officer under Section 3106.002, Government Code; a firefighter under Section 3106.003, Government Code; or an emergency medical first responder under Section 3106.004, Government Code

Required Proof of Residency Information

Family who is building or purchasing a residence within EMS ISD:
- If purchasing, provide a purchase contract with the address and the projected move-in-date.
- If building, provide a builder’s contract with the address and the projected completion date; or

Family who owns/rents a residence:
- A family who is living with another person who resides within the district must complete an Affidavit of Legal Residency (this legal enrollment form must be completed and notarized on an annual basis) and provide required Proof of Residency documentation at the enrolling campus.
- Provide proof of utility service, dated within the last 30 days showing the name of the owner/renter and residence address. Acceptable documents include an electric, gas, or water bill showing service dates and the name of the owner/renter.
  - Unacceptable documents include cellular phone bill, insurance bill, cable bill, or utility service request or termination notices.
- Provide a signed rental/lease agreement that includes the residence address, residents’ names (including children), start/end dates of the lease, and the signatures of both the lessor and lessee.

Pre-K Locations

Full-day Pre-K is offered for all eligible four-year-old students.
The district offers Pre-K at various elementary campuses and Hafley Development Center for eligible students.
You may contact your home elementary campus for details on the location for pre-kindergarten classes in your attendance zone.
