Summer Learning in EMS ISD

Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD offers a variety of Summer School programs to support student learning, credit completion, and continued growth. Summer programming is designed for students who need credit recovery, academic acceleration, language support, or special education services, as well as students preparing for STAAR EOC retesting. Participation is based on campus and program eligibility. Families will receive communication from their school if a program is recommended for their student.

Summer Learning Programs

Elementary Programs

Pre-K & Kindergarten Summer Program

Summer Program for current Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten students will be held at Gililland Elementary. Students will receive invitations from their home campus to participate.

Summer Program for current 1st grade ESL students will be held at Gililland Elementary. Students will receive invitations from their home campuses to participate.

Secondary Programs

Middle School Course Recovery

Course Recovery for middle school students will be held at Chisholm Trail High School this year. Students will receive invitations to participate from their home campuses.

June 8 - July 2, 2026 (Monday-Thursday)
8:30 am - 12:30 pm
Cost (per course): $100 ($50 Early Bird Pricing, if paid by 4:30 pm, June 2, 2026) All payments will be submitted in RevTrak, our online payment system.

Tuition scholarships may be available for qualifying students. Campus counselors will assist families with scholarship coordination.

High School Credit Recovery & Acceleration

Credit Recovery and Acceleration Courses for high school students will be held at Chisholm Trail High School this year. Students will receive invitations to participate from their home campuses.

June 8 - July 2, 2026 (Monday-Thursday)
Morning Session: 8:00 - 11:00 am
Afternoon Session: 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Cost (per 0.5 credit): $150 ($100 Early Bird Pricing, if paid by 4:30 pm, June 2, 2026) All payments will be submitted in RevTrak, our online payment system.

EOC Academy & STAAR Retesting

EOC Academies and STAAR Retesting for high school students will be held at Chisholm Trail High School this year. Students will receive invitations to participate from their home campuses.

Morning Session: 8:00 - 11:00 am
Afternoon Session: 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

EOC Retest Dates

June 22, 2026: English I & US History
June 23, 2026: English II & Biology
June 24, 2026: Algebra I
June 25, 2026: Make-Up Deadline

Invitations to participate in EOC Academy and STAAR Retesting will be sent by Campus Testing Coordinators.

Extended School Year

Extended School Year (ESY)

Extended School Year services for elementary school students will be held at Hatley Elementary School this year. Extended School Year services for middle and high school students will be held at Eagle Mountain High School this year. Students will receive invitations to participate from their home campuses.

Even if your child is not attending one of the Summer School sessions, there are lots of ways to participate.

EMS ISD Summer Camps - there's something for everyone!
Community Camps & Programs: Look into YMCA and local recreation centers
Museums & Cultural Centers: Check for youth workshops and summer events
Educational Apps & Websites: Try Khan Academy, PBS Kids, and Nat Geo Kids
School Events: Some campuses may host summer reading nights and family learning activities

Transportation for Summer Program

Transportation is provided for students enrolled in district Summer School programs by Goldstar and EMS ISD Transportation.

Secondary students are transported to Chisholm Trail High School from their home campuses. They will arrive at CTHS in time for breakfast and will return to their home campuses at the end of the school day.
Elementary students attend programming at Gililland Elementary will be transported by bus from their home campus. They will return to their home campus at the end of the school day. Parents or a designee must be at the home campus when they return.
ESY students receive home-to-campus transportation. Special Services staff will communicate with Goldstar, EMS ISD Transportation, and families about bus transportation.

Campus-specific pickup times and routes will be communicated directly to families prior to the start of Summer School.

Summer Feeding Program

All EMS ISD student may enjoy free breakfast and lunch at participating campuses during the summer. Students in summer programs eat at their assigned campus and ESY students at Eagle Mountain HS will have meals delivered daily.

Times

Breakfast: 7:00 - 9:00 a.m.

Lunch: 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

YMCA Summer Program

The YMCA Summer Program will operate at Comanche Springs Elementary and Dozier Elementary throughout the summer. This program operates on its own, and is not managed by EMS ISD.
