New Menu App for your smartphone or tablet! The free app called School Lunch by Nutrislice is available in the Apple App Store for iPhones and in Google Play for Android phones. The app shows each day’s menu, including pictures and descriptions of the foods. Give it a try and you will never need a paper menu again!Offer vs. Serve Method: We use an Offer vs. Serve Method. A plate breakfast consists of 4 items offered and you need to choose at least 3, but may take all 4. On offer vs. serve, a plate lunch consists of 5 items offered and you need to choose at least 3, 4, or 5. The items being offered are: meat, vegetable, fruit, bread, and milk. (Sometimes the meat and the bread are combined. A hamburger for example, would count as 2 items.)If your child does not have money in their account in elementary school they will be able to charge 3 lunches, after that they will be given an "alternate meal" which consists of fruit, vegetables, bread and milk. Any charges incurred are the responsibility of the parent/guardian to repay to the cafeteria. In the secondary schools there is one charge allowed and then an "alternate meal" will be made available consisting of fruit, vegetables, bread and milk. Again, any charges incurred are the responsibility of the parent/guardian to repay to the cafeteria.
