$10,805 raised for school supplies to benefit families in need at B2SB

High school students present the $10,805 check to the Effie Center.

EMS ISD students, faculty, administration, and PTA members raised and made a monetary donation of $10,805 to the Effie Center to supply backpacks stuffed with school supplies to Community Link's Back 2 School Bash on August 11. The school drives were held in February and March with each school striving to raise enough money for 10 backpacks.

The Back 2 School Bash provides families in need with free backpacks, school supplies, hair cuts, eye glasses, and more. For more information about the event and income guidelines, click here. Recipients of the free supplies and services must register in advance online at https://www.communitylinkmission.org/new-events/2018/8/11/back-2-school-bash-2018.

Donations are still being accepted. Those interested in making a monetary donation to Community Link's Back to School Bash can donate online at https://www.effiecenter.org/back2school or can mail a check to the Effie Center at 4409 Haltom Road, Haltom City, Texas 76117.
