EMS ISD Administration is pleased to announce that Chandra Turrentine has been selected as the Director of Student Services for the district. Turrentine is in her 16th year as an educator and has served as assistant principal at Boswell High School since 2015.
In her new role, she will have the opportunity to serve students, staff, and families at all schools across EMS ISD. Her responsibilities will include working with staff and community members to assist with resolving concerns, managing the drug testing program, facilitating the transfer process, coordinating disciplinary placements, and serving as a liaison for the district with local and state agencies.
Prior to EMS ISD, Turrentine served in teaching and leadership roles in Keller ISD, Carroll ISD and in Oklahoma. Her experience includes a strong background in Special Education as well as academic and behavioral support and intervention strategies, teacher appraisals, student goal-setting, curriculum and instructional processes, professional development and campus logistics management. She earned a Master's in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas A&M-Commerce and a Bachelor's in Business Administration from at the University of Texas at Arlington with post-graduate work in Elementary Education and English. She holds certifications in Special Education for all levels, Elementary Generalist, Principal for all levels, and Secondary English.
Turrentine will continue to serve at Boswell through the end of the first semester, which closes on January 18. District leaders are committed to conducting a thorough search for the next assistant principal at BHS, and Turrentine will work closely with the campus administration to assist with the transition in leadership.
