Greenfield students help set a new Guinness World Record
Second, fourth, and fifth-graders from Greenfield Elementary helped the World Sport Stacking Association set a new Guinness World Record for the most people speed stacking in one day around the world.
The 150 students that participated on November 8, 2018 were part of 624,390 people stacking in multiple locations that day.
"The World Speed Stacking Association had reached out to me previously in the year asking if we would be willing to participate in breaking the Guinness World Record for the most people speed stacking in one day around the world," said Jill Buchanan, Greenfield Elementary Physical Education teacher. "Of course, I jumped on the opportunity for Greenfield to be a part of this once in a lifetime opportunity. When my students came to PE that day, we did the 3, 3, 3 stack and the 3, 6, 3 stack. The students had time to practice and then race against each other. The students absolutely loved every minute of it!"
