Two EMS ISD students, Boswell High School junior Maddy Carter and sophomore Megan Espinoza, will compete at the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) National contest in Anaheim, Calif., June 30-July 4 after competing at the State competition and leadership conference April 4-6 in Dallas.
FCCLA is a co-curricular organization associated with high school courses in the Human Services, Education and Training, and Hospitality pathways. Five students brought home one first, one second, and three third place finishes from State.

Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) students from BHS, SHS, and CTHS competed at the area contest February 21-23 in Waco. The students were strong competitors and represented their schools and the district well, sending the 15 students below to state that will take place April 3-6, 2019 in Dallas.
The mission of FCCLA is to promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner, and community leader, members develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation.
