A visibly emotional Chisholm Trail High School senior, Robert Molina, just found out he has earned a full ride scholarship to TCU. With family and friends watching, he was presented with a $275,000 TCU STEM Scholarship from TCU representatives on Wednesday, March 27, in the Chisholm Trail High School library.

Molina is one of eight students nationwide to receive the scholarship from TCU. The university also promises opportunities to do research with faculty, a semester of study abroad and mentorship from students, staff, and faculty.

“My friends make me be the best I can be,” Molina said, through his tears of joy. “I want to thank my family for sticking with me, especially when times get tough.”

Walter Berringer, CTHS Principal, said he and the entire campus staff couldn’t be more proud of Robert and his accomplishments.

“As I see the emotion Robert has, I am also touched by the emotion his parents have because that tells us the love and sacrifice they have for him,” Berringer said. “We are ecstatic for Robert and we look forward to the exciting things he is going to accomplish at TCU.”
