New leadership announced for Bryson Elementary

portrait of Jennifer Gillard, newly named principal of Bryson Elementary Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD is pleased to announce that Jennifer Gillard has been named the new Principal of Bryson Elementary School. She will take over for Whitney Wheeler, who has accepted the role of Assistant Principal for Marine Creek Middle School, opening August 2019.

Gillard comes to EMS ISD from Breckinridge ISD, where she served as the Principal of North Elementary School for three years. Prior to her time in Breckinridge, she served six years as an Assistant Principal in Weatherford ISD.

Gillard has 27 years of experience serving students in Texas public schools. She started her teaching career in EMS ISD as a student teacher at Bryson Elementary. She then taught first and second grades, and special education, in Lake Worth ISD. She also previously served as a fourth-grade teacher in Fort Worth ISD before transitioning to the role of Campus Literacy Coach.

"We are delighted to welcome Jennifer Gillard as the new principal of Bryson Elementary," said Lisa Dunn, Executive Director of Elementary Services. "Her years as an assistant principal and principal in neighboring districts, and her passion and experience in elementary education, have equipped her to continue the journey of success for the Bryson Bobcats. We are excited to welcome her back home."

Gillard is a proud, second-generation graduate of Texas Woman's University. She received her master's degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. 

During her free time, Gillard enjoys traveling to Texas State Parks with her husband and spending time with their two daughters, who are attending college.
