portrait of Kaiden Cassano, Jostens Renaissance Student of the Month April 2019

Chisholm Trail High School is proud to announce that Kaiden Cassano is the recipient of the Jostens Renaissance National Student of the Month Award for April 2019.  The Jostens Renaissance National Student of the Month recognition is for a deserving student who has made an impact within their school or community through Jostens Renaissance.

Jostens Renaissance is a program that focuses on recognizing students and staff.  The core of the program revolves around the five R’s: what you Respect, Reward, Recognize, and Reinforce = Results.

Kaiden was selected based on her exceptional dedication and commitment to the values of Chisholm Trail High School and Jostens Renaissance. She has led the efforts to ensure that the climate and culture within the building are focused around the success of all students and staff.  As her nomination from teacher and Renaissance Coordinator Carla Hardy stated, "Kaiden has been in our Renaissance program for two years and currently serves as our president. I knew she would do an incredible job as our president as she is the truest representation of a 'servant leader.'  She is always in the details and no job is too small.  She would never say 'no' to any job asked of her, and she is always looking for the gaps that need to be filled.  Kaiden continually exudes the heart of Renaissance in our school, in our classroom, and in my life.  When she graduates at the end of this year, I have no doubt that the 5 R's will be present in her life while on her college campus, influencing and impacting her peers and professors for years to come.  I am so very grateful for and proud of all that Kaiden has accomplished and become through her time in Ranger Renaissance!"

Kaiden will be showcased on the Jostens Renaissance website and receive several items of recognition. Congratulations, Kaiden! We are #emsproud of your service to your school and your community!

Additionally, Chelsea Shields of Saginaw High School is the recipient of the Jostens Renaissance National Staffulty Member of the Month Award for April 2019.  The Jostens Renaissance National Staffulty Member of the Month recognition is for a deserving staff or faculty member who has made an impact within their school or community through Jostens Renaissance.

Shields was selected based on her exceptional dedication and commitment to the values of Saginaw High School and Jostens Renaissance. She has led the efforts to ensure that the climate and culture within the building are focused around the success of all students and staff.  As Courtney Parker stated in her nomination letter, “Chelsea and her husband Stephen, who is also a teacher at Saginaw HS, have worked tirelessly to start the Rider Renaissance organization at SHS.  Chelsea is only in her second year at SHS and has one of the biggest hearts for our school that I know of.  From organizing the faculty coffee/soda bar outside all staff meetings, the encouraging monthly posters hung to brighten our hallways, greeting students and staff as they arrive at school with a smile and treat, monthly awards that help us shine a light on students and staff doing amazing things, to just her general positive spirit with students and staff alike.  Chelsea serves SHS as the principal secretary and is always juggling multiple things at once.  But she is always willing to help whenever needed with a smile on her face.  She is a ‘go to’ for all things at Saginaw and even if does not involve her, will lift a helping hand.  In just the first year of the Rider Renaissance organization, I have already seen a great improvement in school culture.  I can't imagine the impact these special students being led by Mr. and Mrs. Shields will have as they continue to grow.”

Shields will be showcased on the Jostens Renaissance website and receive several items of recognition. Congratulations, Mrs. Shields! We are #emsproud of your service to your school and your community!
