Chisholm Trail High School Anglers, students Olivia Devore and Lucas Rhodes, qualified for the Texas High School Bass Association State Championship tournament at Cedar Creek Lake on May 11-12, 2019.
At the two-day tournament, Rhodes caught the 20th biggest bass.
"It is a huge accomplishment to qualify for State," said Jay Montya, Chisholm Trail Fishing Club sponsor.
Four Chisholm Trail teams advanced to the Regional Championships tournament at Lake Lewisville at the beginning of April. There, Devore and Rhodes caught three fish at 8.78 lbs, advancing them to the State tournament. Only 283 teams advanced to the State tournament.
The other Regional Championship Anglers were Garrett Maile, Jason De La O, Regan Davis, Hayden Risky, and Barret Bolin.
Eight Chisholm Trail teams competed with more than 1400 high school teams in THSBA tournaments throughout this year.
"This is the fourth year in a row that Chisholm Trail has advanced to Regionals and the second year in a row to advance to State," Montya said. "Congratulations to these Anglers on a great season!"
