Culinary arts students claim People's Choice 1st Place Restaurant at Taste of Northwest

EMS ISD participated in Community Link's Taste of Northwest on September 26, 2019 at the Saginaw Recreation Center. Under the direction of Chef Katie Natale, culinary arts students from the Hollenstein Career and Technology Center (HCTC) competed against local restaurants and caterers. They placed first in the People's Choice Restaurant category for the fourth year in a row. Their menu consisted of chicken pot pie made with herb biscuits, brownies, pumpkin muffins, and white chocolate cranberry cookies.

EMS ISD Fine Arts provided entertainment with performances by the Boswell High School Jazz Band, Saginaw High School Choir, Chisholm Trail High School Ranger Vocal Band, Saginaw High School Starsteppers, Saginaw High School Jazz Band, and Chisholm Trail High School Charmers.

HCTC Audio and Video Technology students showcased video equipment along with 360 video tours while HCTC Graphic Design and Animation students showcased some of their previous design work and provided face painting to young event attendees.

Patrons of the event also had the opportunity to play Plinko to win district swag and could attempt to golf a hole in one at the EMS Education Foundation booth. A special thank you goes to Saginaw High School Rider Renaissance students and Chisholm Trail High School Ranger Renaissance students for running the Plinko game.
