EMS ISD celebrates National Red Ribbon Week

Campuses across the district celebrated National Red Ribbon Week, October 23-31, with special events and activities to highlight the importance of a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

Activities included dress-up days such as Dozier Elementary's superhero day, "I have the POWER to be drug free!"

Gililland Elementary students kicked off their Red Ribbon Week in the school's gym with special appearances and performances by Saginaw High School students.

Several schools had hat, sunglasses, and crazy sock days during Red Ribbon Week. Northbrook Elementary students were proud to "Walk Away From Drugs" while Saginaw Elementary celebrated "Hats Off to a Healthy Lifestyle!" Bryson Elementary students wore sunglasses and neon colors to show their "Future is Too Bright for Drugs."

Some schools even had guest speakers with inspirational and informative messages. Comanche Springs Elementary students listened to professional league baseball catcher Jonathan Lucroy speak about making healthy choices.
