Seven EMS ISD students place in Lions Club District 2E2 Drug Awareness Poster Contest

Seven EMS ISD students placed in the Lions Club International District 2E2 Drug Awareness Youth Poster Contest and received gift card prizes along with ribbons. They were honored at a Saginaw Lions Club reception on January 28.

For the contest, students had to depict the dangers and/or consequences from the use of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco. Winners were selected based on quality of work, clarity of message, orginality, and spelling.

The students first competed in the local Saginaw Lions Club contest in November with winners advancing to the District 2E2 Contest in January. District 2E2 is made up of 72 clubs in the Fort Worth area.

"Our EMS ISD students drew a lot of attention at the district contest, winning 7 of 12 entries," said Kelli Dougher, Saginaw Lions Club President. "Our club is allowed to advance three winners, but other area clubs chose to sponsor the remaining winners from our local Saginaw Lions contest because our students entries were so good!"
