EMS ISD hosts first Spanish Spelling Bee

Yasmin Flores, 1st place winner in Spanish Spelling Bee Top 3 finalist hold trophies  15 district level spelling bee participants hold ribbons and trophies

EMS ISD hosted its first districtwide Spanish Spelling Bee on Monday, February 3, 2020. The top five students from each bilingual campus — Gilliland, Remington Point, and Willow Creek elementary schools — competed at the district-level bee. The top three finalists will now advance to compete in the first Region 11 Spanish Spelling Bee on March 6.  
 
The top three finalists were:  
1) Yasmin Flores, Gilliland Elementary
2) Ivanna Cantu, Willow Creek Elementary
3) Maurizio Flores, Willow Creek Elementary
