Student Anglers advance to Texas High School Bass Association State Championship

Nine EMS ISD high school students from Chisholm Trail and Boswell High Schools advanced to the Texas High School Bass Association (THSBA) State Championship tournament. Unfortunately due to COVID-19, the State tournament was canceled.
On June 20, the Chisholm Trail High School Anglers competed with 184 high school teams at the THSBA Regional Championship tournament at Lake Ray Roberts. The Regional Championship Anglers were:
- Regan Davis/Julio Perez – 7.72 lbs Team advanced to State
- Lucas Rhodes/Ricardo Macias – 4.94 lbs Team advanced to State
- Eric Camareno/solo – 4.5 lbs Team advanced to State
- Connor Duley/solo – 3.02 lbs
- Garrett Maile/Sebastian Saucedo
- Copper Noe/Will VanOrden
On June 28, the Boswell High School Anglers competed with 155 high school teams at the THSBA Regional Championship tournament at Lake Ray Roberts. The Regional Championship Anglers were:
- Clay Osteen/Toby Fuller – 13.54 lbs Team advanced to State
- Garrett Cadenhead/Hayden Riscky – 4.36 lbs Team advanced to State
- Layne Akin/Damian Morales
Osteen and Fuller placed second overall earning them each a $1000 scholarship and a new fishing rod.
