To further support students in remote and in-person learning, EMS ISD is offering after-hours academic support with district teachers and instructional staff.
Teachers will be available at the secondary level virtually to offer assistance in core content classes or subjects. This support is in addition to tutorials scheduled by the classroom teacher and will be offered as long as after-hours support is needed.
A dedicated group of middle and high school teachers from across the district continue to monitor and support requests for academic help. This means a student may be tutored by a teacher from a different campus. Tutoring sessions are available Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from 5-8:00 pm.
Secondary students must fill out the tutoring form to request help. The form is also available on each campus website. After completing the form, a tutor will invite the student to a Teams meeting. The student must make sure to be signed into Teams on the device he/she is using before submitting the form.
“I want to thank all our parents and guardians for their patience and support as we continue working with you and your student(s) to navigate through technology, assignments, and connections in a remote learning environment,” said Dr. Linda Parker, Deputy Superintendent. “EMS ISD is committed to fully supporting your student academically in any setting. Your child’s education is our priority.”
All requests for after-hours support will be answered in the order they are received. Requests may not be answered in the same day depending on request volume. For additional assistance, contact your child’s campus.
