Familiar Faces Take on New Roles in Human Resources
Published July 21, 2022
EMS ISD is pleased to announce that Chris Mogan has been named the new director of Human Resources. Mogan joined the district HR team in 2021 as the assistant director and will be moving into the role previously held by Dr. Maria Gamell, who is now serving as the Executive Director of Human Resources.
Mogan is entering his 24th year in public education. Prior to joining EMS ISD, he served in Decatur ISD as the director of Academic Learning and Student Services. He has also served as a high school principal in Decatur ISD, Sherman ISD, and Frisco ISD. He has 16 years of combined campus and district administrative experience and seven years as a secondary teacher and coach.
"I am humbled and honored to continue serving our district in this new role," Mogan said. "We have a great team of leaders in our department and I look forward to working alongside them to support our campuses and district with their staffing and personnel needs."
Mogan grew up in Plano and graduated from Plano Senior High School, then attended college at Oklahoma Baptist University for his undergraduate degree. He then earned his Master's in Education Administration from the University of North Texas.
He is married to his wonderful wife, Christine, who works as a high school counselor. Their daughter is currently in high school and their son attends middle school. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family on the lake or camping, hunting, fishing, and golfing.
With Mogan moving into the director role, EMS ISD is pleased to announce that another in-district leader, Dr. Chaney Curran, has been selected to serve as the assistant director of Human Resources. Dr. Curran brings immediate campus experience to her new role. Curran has served as principal of Remington Point Elementary School for the past eight years. She has served a total of 13 years in EMS ISD and 18 years in public education.
Congratulations to Mogan and Curran on their new roles in EMS ISD. We are #EMSproud!
