Dr. Linda Parker is a Hometown Hero
Every year, the Northeast Tarrant Chamber of Commerce recognizes individuals who have gone the extra mile for their surrounding community and the non-profit organizations within them, and it is with great pleasure that Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD nominated Dr. Linda Parker as the District’s 2023 Hometown Hero!
The Chamber honors 30 to 40 local heroes annually, and Dr. Parker was granted this distinction by receiving one of the noble awards that comes with the esteemed title. Dr. Parker’s contributions to both the school district and Eagle Mountain-Saginaw as a whole have been invaluable and serve as an example to all.
Just this past year, Dr. Parker organized a Back 2 School Bash for students returning from summer vacation and raised over a quarter of a million dollars in educational supplies that were distributed to those in need. Additionally, she has been looking ahead, working with the EMS Education Foundation to found The Moving Mountain, a mobile reading bus that will give students with limited access to public libraries the opportunity to expand their minds through literature. The Moving Mountain will take to the streets in 2024.
It is because of these previously mentioned projects as well as all of the successful projects she undertook in her nearly four decades of service in public education that EMS ISD was proud to nominate Dr. Linda Parker as a 2023 Hometown Hero. We are #EMSproud to see all of her selfless work be recognized with this award.
