Hundreds Attend Annual EMS ISD Holiday Open House
Hundreds of people dropped by the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD Administration Building and Discovery Labs Learning Center on Wednesday for the annual Holiday Open House.
True to this year’s theme of "Merry and Bright," from the student performances, to the colorful attire and the festive decorations, the spirit of the season filled the building.
“It's just so festive and happy,” said Linda Renfro, a retired educator. “We love seeing people we've known through the years and it's fun to meet new people, too.”
The annual event is open to everyone in the community, and always brings together retired educators, current staff, parents and students.
“We came to watch our granddaughters sing in the choir,” said Beth Chambers. “It's a very nice event. We came last year and enjoyed it. It's a nice thing to do for the community. Very festive.”
The entertainment included student singers from the elementary, middle and high school levels.
“We love this event. The people, the food, and the children singing, especially the little ones,” said Enrique Lopez, a community member who always looks forward to the event. “It's fun seeing people that we see here every year. It’s a wonderful event. Every year we enjoy it more.”
The EMS ISD Holiday Open House dates back to the early 1980s, and continues to grow as an EMS holiday tradition with food, music and fun, each year.
“We try to come every year,” Renfro said. “We just love that the district does this for us.”
Thank you to everyone who joined EMS ISD for this year’s Holiday Open House. You've made our season "Merry and Bright."
