EMS ISD celebrates Board Recognition Month

2024 Board of EducationJoin EMS ISD in celebrating January as School Board Recognition Month. This year's theme is "Locally Elected, Community Connected" Please enjoy this short video honoring the EMS ISD Board. As part of this annual statewide recognition, each school adopts a Board member to whom they show appreciation throughout the year. Board members are invited to campus events and programs, and are celebrated in January with campus-made posters, cards, and mementos of thanks for their commitment to EMS ISD students, employees, and community.
EMS ISD Board members serve a critical role in the advancement of our district:

•  They are responsible for ensuring teacher pay remains competitive, so we attract and retain top-quality educators.

•  They provide new facilities and renovated existing facilities to ensure students have environments equipped to support learning.

•  They listen to issues raised by parents, teachers, students, and administrators and they use their best judgment to resolve these issues in the best interest of the student and the district.

•  They are responsible for an annual general operating budget of $250 million, more than 23,500 students, over 3,100 employees, and 29 school campuses.

"Our EMS ISD Trustees, both individually and collectively, are committed to children and believe that all children can be successful learners," said Superintendent Dr. Jim F. Chadwell. "They take their role as community ambassadors to heart, and they work closely with parents, staff, and administration to create the educational vision our community desires and expects for our students. I am proud to work with each of our Board members and appreciate their commitment and dedication to the families of EMS ISD."
