Free, Award Winning Summer Meals Offered in EMS ISD

Pizza, carrots, peas, chocolate milk, apple slicesChildren 18 years and younger can get free, award-winning breakfast and lunch this summer at a number of locations around EMS ISD.

Breakfast is available from 7-9 am and lunch from 11-1 pm, Monday through Thursday.

Locations providing meals include Chisholm Trail High School, Marine Creek Middle School, Willow Creek Elementary School, Hatley Elementary School, Gililland Elementary School and Northbrook Elementary School.

The high-quality meals are appetizing, appealing and nutritious. In fact, once again this summer, EMS ISD is a recipient of the “Turnip the Beet” Gold Level Award.

“Turnip the Beet” is awarded to school districts that serve local foods including a variety of fruits, vegetables and whole grains. EMS ISD is one of only 19 districts in Texas to receive the Gold Level Award.

“We are so grateful we can give back to our community and our students,” said Aaron Wylie, EMS ISD Director of Child Nutrition. “Students aren't always able to get highly nutritious meals during the summer. This gives them the opportunity to have a nutritious meal with fruits and vegetables twice a day at no charge.”

Summertime means fun time, and we want to fuel your child's fun times all summer in EMS ISD!
